9/21/2023 3 Comments Blender to cinema 4dHappy that my post helped you to give Blender a go. I still can't believe Blender is free while C4D is overpriced with adding no big innovative functions or updates for years (why not finally add a proper particle system?), making it even worse for example with removing the old browser or changing the look in the last release. ![]() This is not even half of what Forester costs and is way way better. If you want to have good nature assets with really good scattering, just get Scatter 5 and Botaniq. The whole workflow in Blender is so much more intuitive for me and the diversity of Blender is just awesome (recently did some tracking which was incredibly good, better than AE, or simple things like adding Images as planes in two clicks, is just fantastic, plus working in the fully rendered mode in the viewport.) Also the add-ons for Blender are cheaper and better than C4D. Blender feels superior in many fields, runs more stable, gets great constant updates and is even faster with the new Cycles than Redshift is in a few tests it did. ![]() Switched from C4D to Blender 6 months ago and was the best thing I could do for my 3D work. My goal this year is to learn Blender and Houdini and ultimately phase out Cinema altogether. It’s just very obvious to me that there are much better tools out there that are drastically more capable and way more cost efficient. Not hating on this program just to hate on it, my livelihood currently depends on my ability to use it for work. And for context, I’ve been using Cinema for 6 years, in a professional capacity for 4 of those. Blender gets more and more feature rich with every release whereas Cinema gets these tiny incremental changes on top of having to pay several hundred dollars a year just to use. Retopology tools is one such area that Cinema is downright pathetic in. And, when factoring in the cost per year to license Cinema when compared to the no cost per year to use Blender, why even bother with a paid app that is missing features that other apps have had for literal years, or, have very capable plugins available. Cinema is lacking in so many features when compared to Blender. If you have feedback on the subreddit theme, feel free to send /u/Cryptonaut a message.
